Aluminium is typically present in natural water sources as a result of its vast occurrence in minerals, rocks and clays. Aluminium may also be found in treated water and wastewater as it is used in the coagulation processes. Although higher concentrations of aluminium (> 0.2 mg/L) do not cause any significant health effects to humans, it does colour the water, so it is important to monitor the aluminium levels to prevent colouration.

Hanna supply a wide range of instruments that are suitable for accurate determination of aluminium concentration.
